AMA Citation Style

Chicago »

Unlike other citation styles, AMA requires to list sources numerically in the order they are used in the essay. Use initials of author's first and middle names without spaces or periods. In case no author is given, start with the title.

Citing a Book

Author last name first initial, Last2 First2. Title of the book. Place of publication: publisher; Year.

Citing a Journal Article

Last name first initial. Title of the article. Title of periodical. Year; volume: page-page.

Citing a Web Site

Last name first initial. Title of article. Name of website. Year. Available at: http://www.website.info/directory/page.ext. Accessed Month day, Year.
