It is a well-known fact that human beings are judged by their deeds. Of no doubt the most demonstrative deeds of individuals are their experience and achievements in life. It is very often said that the amount of every person’s achievements indicates the level of his integrity. However in my native country they often say another interesting thought that a person should be judged not only by his past achievements but also by the ones he aspires to in future. From this point of view I seem to be the person of a tremendous integrity as for the amount of goals I plan to achieve is truly large. In the present paper I would like to describe my personal achievements, the ones I already gained in my life as well as those that I only aspire to achieve in future.

I was born and raised in Pakistan, the Asian country with vivid history and ancient traditions. I always loved my country and my town very much. However from my early childhood I felt an inclination to discovering something more unusual. I dreamt of travelling abroad and seeing modern western world as it was portrayed in movies and books. My cousin lived in the United States of America in that period and seeing him was a real holiday for me. He told me about this wonderful country that was so different from the world I used to observe around me. It seemed to me so unbelievably free, independent, beautiful, and proud that coming to the United States became my major dream. The most appealing opportunity for me seemed education in the USA. I was studying at school in that period and my school results were rather good. Very soon my parents found out about my dream to go to USA and continue studying there. When I was in the eighth year of school my major dream came true. It was hard to believe for me that our family was moving to the United States. Achieving one of my strongest dreams, moving to USA, I consider one of my greatest achievements. My dear parents made this for me and I will be thankful to them for all my life. However since I live in the US I never stopped loving my native country. I have an opportunity to compare now and I love Pakistan even more when I am far away.

After we moved to USA I entered eighth grade of local school. I became getting acquainted with the place of my dream. All was new for me and I had much work to do. Adapting to another country always means some kind of cultural shock and involves learning native language, catching up at school, meeting new people and places, and getting used to different culture. Luckily I adapted quickly to American life as for I dreamt about it for many years.

It always happens that when you achieve your goal you quickly get another one to follow. Since I came to USA and my dream came true I had another dream and tried my best to gain it. It was getting to Georgia Institute of Technology, or simply Georgia Tech. I heard about it in Pakistan from my cousin but I was afraid even to think about getting there as it seemed so unbelievable to me in that period. In US this thought appeared to be more real.

Thus in America I started following Georgia Tech. My family helped and supported me very much in everything I tried to achieve. Unfortunately when I was in the ninth grade it happened a disaster in my life. My dear father passed away and this event broke me down soundly. I was out of school for about three weeks after this as for my parents were the only close people for me in this country and it was very hard to lose one of them. I felt unable to do anything I found no sense in it. However in few weeks I realized one thing. If my father were still with me he would encourage me to continue studying and to achieve all my goals. He would be proud of me if I could succeed in life. Since then I doubled my efforts in aspiring to my goals as if I did it for both my father and myself. I came back to school and caught up very quickly. Moreover I learned English very fast and started speaking fluent language easily. Oftentimes people could not believe I was not American. Hence I may objectively say that I can learn very quickly and efficiently. To my mind overcoming the disaster of losing father may be considered as one of my achievements.

Due to my father’s death and this sad period of my life I discovered another inclination of my personality. It was helping other people. After my personal grief I realized how unhappy may some people be. I started participating in various social programs within our school. They included different activities on helping people in diverse situations. For example we helped in various social and charity funds raisings and elaborated programs of helping poor local children. Besides, the key clubs within my school helped collecting money and toys for homeless kids and sent it through UNICEF. Helping people, especially poor and homeless children, makes me more open and develops my integrity to the great extent. I am sure my father is proud of me from somewhere above. I think charity is another achievement of mine.

All my achievements described above were very important in my life. However I am rather young hence I know that the greatest achievements of my life are before me. For now my major goal is Georgia Tech. This establishment to my mind is the best one in the United States and seems perfect to me. I know it is not enough to love Georgia Tech for succeeding within it. I also have to be perfect for it. And I will put all my efforts to prove that I really am perfect for the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The Georgia Institute of Technology has a longest history among southern universities of the United States and this fact speaks for itself. During one hundred and twenty years from its foundation the school of technology turned to one of the most powerful institutions of America that ranks among top five of the nation’s research universities. It would be honor for me to be a student of the institute with such vivid history and powerful educational base. Georgia Tech to my mind is the best university for those who aspire to work in order to improve the conditions of human life. To my mind the Georgia Tech education is very relevant in contemporary society with a constantly growing need for new technologies. I feel a personal inclination to biochemistry and industrial engineering and would like to major in these fields. The School of Engineering and the School of Chemistry within the Georgia Institute of Technology offer a unique opportunity to gain high-quality knowledge and skills in these fields. Moreover, I am a real fan of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and I dream of knowing these wonderful sportsmen better. Therefore to the present moment my major goal is to study industrial engineering in the Georgia Institute of Technology. I am sure that gaining it would be one of the greatest achievements in my entire life.

Of course I have many other various dreams and aims in my life. I want to become good specialist and get a good job, to build a strong loved family and to treat my children the way my parents treated me, to help people and to make the world around me better. I am sure I will reach these aims some time as for every event there is a certain moment. I already achieved some very important things in my life and I am very proud of it. Although I had certain losses in my life I still can consider myself a happy person. I have a whole big world around me, and a road of life before me. And I will put all my efforts to follow this road and to achieve the best I can during my future life.
