Obligations Before Organization sample essay
Any position that includes some risky activities always has a strict list of security measures with it for prompt reference. Employees working at these positions must be always informed about the potential risk the job implies and the rules that the employee must follow. Thus, the obligation for such employees consists not only in doing the actual job, but also in following the rules set by the organization’s security experts. In order to avoid future complications, the employee must know for sure and in detail what level of risk would he or she undergo when performing the job, and to assess this risk level in terms of his or her skills, willingness, and other factors.
Unfortunately, mining is not only a risky job, but it is also very harmful on the routine level. Coal miners are constantly exposed to ore and gases, which directly harms their lungs. Veteran miners have very dark eyelids (which looks like poor makeup) because of these long-term underground exposures. Thus work in a coal mine is too risky, plus is does not have any moral or spiritual value. Contrarily, being astronaut is something extraordinary, rare, and mysterious. The risk in such positions may only be caused by error or technical malfunction. Military service volunteers typically fully realize their risk, but this risk is blurred by the volunteering itself. Personal desire and choice are more important in such situations. Being drafted, on the other hand, is different in terms of perception of risk, because it is an external decision which the person typically does not have influence upon.
