MLA Bibliography Sample

MLA bibliography format is the most commonly used citation style. It is used in literature, humanities, and art. Remember to arrange your sources alphabetically by author. In case no author is given, start with the title. Abbreviate all months except June, July, and May.

Citing a book in MLA bibliography

Author last name, first name (and Last2, first2). Title of the book. Place of publication: publisher, date.

Citing a journal article in MLA citation style

Last name, first. "Title of the article." Title of periodical. Volume (date): page-page.

Citing a web-site in MLA references format

Last name, first. "Title of article." Name of section or directory. Name of website. Date. <http://www.website.info/directory/page.ext>
